Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Faculty Deans, University Staff Members, Distinguished Guests, friends and my dearest fellow students.

The first thing I would like to say is thank you. Not only has UTS given me an extraordinary honor, but a week of fear and anxiety I ve experienced at the thought of giving this farewell speech which has made me lose weight. A win-win situation! Now all I have to do is take deep breaths, look at my friends sitting down there and try to be as self-confident as possible so that they can record my best image in such an unforgettable moment and upload the video on Facebook so as my family, colleagues and friends in Vietnam can also enjoy it.

For many Eastern women who are married, leaving their elderly parents, lonely husband and beloved child behind to study abroad for a while may sound like a disaster as they have to suffer from the critiques of responsibilities for being a daughter, a wife and a mother. That was exactly what I experienced at the beginning of my university life at UTS. However, it then turns out to be a miracle, as my tears of homesick turn into tears of love, loyalty and non-stop struggle.

At the moment, my dad who has overcome a period of serious illness, my husband, my four-year-old daughter, and my sister-in-law, the voluntary nanny of my daughter, are looking forward to our reunion day. I would like to send all the thankful words with love and appreciation to my family thousands of miles away from this beautiful continent. Dad, Mum, my siblings, my sweeties, my family and my friends - thank you guys for your great support and your unconditional love.

And above all, I would like to thank our distinguished Vice Chancellor, our esteemed faculties, our respectful lecturers and other supporting staff for everything you have done to make studying at UTS a rich, lively and memorable experience.

A great thank to UTS for giving me another life with full of new things and interesting and amazing knowledge and skills which I may miss without studying here.

A highly appreciation to my dearest lecturers and tutors in communication management department for raising me up from shyness to self-confidence, since then there was no more distance between teachers and learners. The only feeling is sharing and mutual understanding. As myself also a lecturer in Communication and Advertising in Vietnam, this is a meaningful lesson for me when working with students in the future.

However, I could not implement all the things I have mentioned above without the financial support from Ausaid. Therefore, my great gratitude to the Australian Government for their idea of supporting students from developing countries including Vietnam. Thanks to this great support, I have an opportunity to live in such a multicultural nation as Australia and meet people from every corner of the world. I hope that all of the knowledge, skills and experience that I have gained will enhance my success in career and life at home.

Finally, I wish everyone present the best for their future. May I remind myself and you that we shall not judge ourselves only on professional accomplishments, but also on how we engage ourselves positively in the world we re living in.
